For Research Use Only - Not For Human Consumption

How peptide lab testing works

Almost every service in the directory follows one of three models. In all three, you ship a sample to the lab and the lab sends back data. The sample is consumed in testing and is not returned.

What testing does and does not do. Laboratory testing on this page is analytical quality control for research materials. A test measures what is in the sample that was sent: its identity, purity, quantity, or a specific contaminant. A certificate of analysis covers only that sample, on that date. It does not establish that a material is safe or effective, it does not approve any product for human or veterinary use, and no product or material referenced here has been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. All materials are for in-vitro laboratory research purposes only. Not for human consumption.

Model A: retail storefront (most US and Canadian labs)

  1. Choose the compound and test on the lab\u2019s site. The price is usually per compound. Check out and pay online.
  2. The lab emails shipping instructions and a submission form or prepaid label.
  3. Ship one sealed, unopened vial, or the stated milligram amount where the lab takes powder. Some labs require a crimped vial specifically.
  4. The lab logs the sample, photographs it at some labs, assigns a blind or accession code, and runs HPLC with any add-ons ordered.
  5. The certificate of analysis arrives by email or portal as a PDF, usually with a chromatogram, purity percentage, identity result and quantity. Most carry a QR code, task number or verification key so the report can be checked on the lab\u2019s own site.

Model B: quote or intake form

  1. Submit a quote or intake form with the compound, the label claim in milligrams, the number of vials and the tests wanted.
  2. The lab returns a fixed quote and its shipping address. ACS, for example, says a quote usually comes back within one business day.
  3. Ship the sample. Overnight courier is recommended by several labs. Pay on invoice or checkout.
  4. The COA arrives by email or portal inside the stated turnaround.

Model C: anonymised broker

  1. Register the sample on the broker\u2019s site and choose the free public route or the paid private route where offered.
  2. The broker emails instructions. You ship to the broker\u2019s intake address.
  3. The broker strips identifying information and forwards the sample to a commercial partner laboratory.
  4. You receive the COA by email or link. On Finnrick\u2019s free route the result is also published and counted in the vendor\u2019s public score.

Shipping the sample

Lyophilised vials usually ship at room temperature in a padded mailer, tracked. Reconstituted material needs cold packs or dry ice; most directory labs ask for unopened lyophilised vials, so check the lab\u2019s own instructions before sending anything else. Endotoxin and sterility testing often need their own vial, which is why panel pages in the directory state vial counts per tier.

Timelines

The fastest US labs report in 24 to 72 hours. Standard turnaround is 3 to 10 business days. One clock never shortens: a USP <71> sterility culture takes 14 days at minimum. Any sterility result promised in days is a rapid screen, and the sterility testing page explains the difference.
